About

Great, another “how to earn money online” blog.  Yes, I’ve fallen into this niche even when most internet marketing “gurus” have repeatedly told me not to pursue this keyword as it’s a big fat dead end.  I totally agree that this niche is over saturated and there’s a slim to none chance that I will be able to earn money from this blog.

Yes, it would be nice to make some residual income, and yes I realize how difficult it is to make money in this niche.  Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let me tell you a little about myself and why I started this blog.

My name is Rico and I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a total newbie when it comes to earning money on the internet.  I started getting interested in internet marketing about 4 months ago when I realized that my job was a dead-end and that I was on a one way path to the career “dead-zone” if I continued to work for that company.  I was a senior auditor for a public accounting firm for three years of my life.  Those years of having a “career” taught me something about myself, the lesson I learned was that I am not cut out to be an accountant, nor do I WANT to be an accountant for the rest of my life.  While contemplating my career, I was thrown a curve ball in my life…my company laid me off!

After being laid off, I panicked and frantically searched for another job to replace the job I just lost.  But in the back of mind I was reluctant to find another accounting position as the thought alone of working in another cubicle made me stressed.  While I was job hunting, I started to search for ways to make money money.  It’s only been 4 months since I’ve been laid off but I laugh at some of the ideas I came up with to earn money from the internet.  Here were some of my ideas:  start a forum, start a dating website, create a blog, create a website for an MLM company.

I soon learned that all of my ideas were a big waste of time and that none of these things would earn me any money. Then I started to read blogs about how to make money online, signed up for some “guru” (problogger, John Chow) e-books and even bought some “making money on the internet” videos.  I studied all of these materials and quickly built blogs around what I just learned.  Some of the e-book and videos I watched told me that I should get many RSS subscribers, Twitter Followers and comment on as many do-follow blogs as possible.  So that’s what I did, I spent many hours getting followers on Twitter, tried to comment and add my link on blogs and tried to buddy up with authoritative figures in my niche.  I felt like I was doing the right thing because that’s what the people that were making money told me to do.  I always thought to myself, “am I wasting my time? This seems like am awful lot of work…I hope it’s worth it.”

So I waited for traffic to come and yes, I did get some traffic, but was I getting any money?  Nope, zilch, not even a cent.  Most of my traffic came from social networking sites and I thought with the amount of traffic I was getting, I would at least get a couple of clicks. Discouraged, I went back to the drawing board.

I started to do more research and find out how to increase my web traffic and learn how to earn money from blogging.  I did not want to give up on this because I’ve seen how successful others have become and I really want a job where I’m not tied down to a 9-5.

I still don’t know how I found his website, but the day I did, it changed my perspective around and renewed my hopes in internet marketing.  The blog that I’m referring to is, “How to Make Money Online For Beginners” or makemoneyonlineforbeginners.blogspot.com.  The blog looked awful, it was a simple Blog Spot blog…no pictures, no color, just text and some sponsor links.  I read one article and was immediately hooked.  I was stunned that this ugly blog was ranked number one for the term “make money” without any Twitter followers, huge amounts of RSS subscribers or fancy bells and whistles of the “guru” blogs.

Grizzly Brears is the bloggers name and even though he doesn’t know me, I really appreciate all the FREE information that he’s given me and to millions of other people.  He’s the reason why I haven’t given up my hopes and dreams of earning money online.  *Warning* if some of my information sounds like his, it’s because everything I’ve learned is from him…but the content on this site is MINE and it’s original.

If you Google “earn money” and actually want to learn how to earn money online, you will find a variety of different websites.  If you’re a newb like me, you would click on a website that has the term “free information on how to earn money online” and get directed to a pleasant looking website.  You view the content on the front page and some of the links show how to earn money from surveys or earn money from repackaging e-books.  You click on those links and the site might have some content, BUT it won’t actually TELL you how to earn money repacking e-books, it will ask you to sign up for an e-book.   So you sign up for an e-book or two on the “Secret Success of Repacking E-Books” or something close to that title.  You download the E-book and then you realize that the “free” e-book is actually trying sell you a product that you “must have” to start earning $1,000 a day.  Does this sound familiar?  Believe me,  I’ve been there.

I’ve created this website and plan to rank it high in the search engines so that I can help all the hopeless newbs out there that are getting directed to these schemes.  It’s time for people to actually put up GOOD information about how to earn money online, instead of taking advantage of newbies that are trying to get into this business.

Yes I’m a newbie, but I’ve learned a lot in a little amount of time and have already started to apply my knowledge to a niche that I know will be profitable in 6-8 months (not this blog).  All of my information on this website is free and I will try and be detailed as possible when I write posts.  No, I won’t sell you some shitty e-book or make you subscribe to an e-mail list.  No, I won’t perform a fake review and suggest I product that I’ve never used.  Yes, I might add a few affiliate links in my posts from time to time, BUT I will only advertise products that I actually use and that I’ve had success with. No, I haven’t made money yet, but I know I will once 6 months role by.

I want to show all newbies that you can make money online, BUT only if you follow the correct way and put in the time and effort.  We all have to start somewhere and since this is a brand new blog, I realize that I’m not an authority figure yet.  But as my ranking builds in the search engines, I know my authority will rise as well.  Hopefully by the time I start getting readers, I will be an authority figure.  I’m not planning on adding any subscribers or social networking traffic…I will the majority of my web traffic to be from organic searches.

They say the best way to learn is by teaching (hence the reasons I started this blog).  If you don’t feel like something is right, call me out on it, I’m not perfect and I’m always willing to learn (the right way).

So here goes the 6 month experiment.  Like 50 Cent, I’m going to, “Make money or Die Trying.”  Let’s start learning how to earn money online!
